Agrippina the Younger was a member of the infamous Julio-Claudian dynasty that ruled Ancient Rome at the beginning of the first century CE. Agrippina was the sister, wife and mother of emperors, but she was a complicated character in her own right and her life is a continuing source of fascination. This artwork highlights the different ways that Agrippina has been represented, particularly in the ancient source material.
